In 2012, the Grêmio moved to the Olmpic stadium, to the do Grêmio Arena. The new tricolor stadium was opened with a big party, worthy of one of the best clubs in Brazil. Despite the sadness of leaving the old stadium, the new field was welcomed. For someone used to the old stadium in Azenha the change was great. The new stadium was built at the entrance of the city, in the Humait neighbourhood. Now, to get to Porto Alegre, either by car or plane, you can see across the stadium. The Arena do Grêmio is very beautiful with blue chairs and a modern structure, the stadium is one of the best in the country.
Grêmio hosts matches, and also accommodates concerts and other events. Anyone who likes football and will go through Porto Alegre, need to include the Arena on the route. To reach the stadium you can opt for public transport or drive. If you are visiting the stadium the day of the party, consider the heavy movement. The Arena is a spectacle! Little Gem!
