Officially known as the Estádio Plácido Aderaldo Castelo but more commonly known as simply Estádio Castelão, this stadium was reformed after Fortaleza was selected as one of 12 Brazilian cities to host the FIFA World Cup in 2014. The new stadium was reopened in December 2012 and is a totally modern complex with cinemas, restaurants, and a capacity for over 60,000 spectators.
