Civic Archaeological Museum of Water
The Civic Archaeological Museum of Water (Siena) is on a hill overlooking the west by the fertile Chiana valley. The healing presence of hot springs in the area must also have played a role in the development of Etruscan Chiana, as the area was a center of the cult worship of Apollo in the 5th century BC. The necropolis discovered in the hills attests to the wealth of their owners. In the tombs numerous pieces of Attic pottery have been recovered, as well as bronze vessels and gorgeous alabaster urns.
