Diversion
Nuraghe Appiu Archaeological Park is a diversion on the road from Alghero (the largest city of northern Sardinia) to Villanova Monteleone. Seeing this park was something I enjoyed during my trip to Sardinia. It is a huge site full of greenery, in fact, at the beginning of this park there are pastures for sheep and if you go a little further it becomes a forest like something out of a story. Then you see the Nuraghe (nuraghis singular), Sardinian prehistoric constructions. What they were used for is not exactly certain. In this park there is also a "Tomba del giganti" (a nurágica burial site). Entry costs 2 euros, and in the entrance there is a small cafe and a shop that sells guides and maps.
