Arc of Santiago

Old gate of the villa

Villalpando was a walled enclosure, and this was one of the four gates to the villa. It is located on the outskirts of the town, just opposite Venus Park. It was built in the twelfth century and is protected by two defensive towers on either side of the archway, one part of the parish Santiago that was attached to this door and that currently does not exist. It was restored in 1510. The towers have access to its interior, but are not continuously open to the public. As is the case with other buildings in the desolate town, pigeons found inside shelter and usually frequent, and comedian, see the dogs on the lookout for them.
