City park
Aquilino Ribeiro Municipal Park, popularly known as Parque da Cidade, is the largest green space in Viseu. The rectangular park occupies an entire block and is the main recreational area for the city inhabitants, with tables and benches, an artificial lake, playground, children's library, sports complex, walking paths and lush vegetation. Within the park is the Chapel of Our Lady of Victories, the rear facade of the Church of San Francisco and the statue of João de Barros. This park was, in the sixteenth century, owned by the Capuchin friars, since the old Convent of Sto. António Capuchin was here
