A pleasant experience
Due to a serious problem with my house, I had to move out temporarily to allow urgent work to be done. I decided to rent an apartment for a few days, and found these: there aren't many options in Leon, but I knew about these apartments, managed by the Hotel Puerta de Leon. They have several apartments for rent in different buildings in the city but, as they were all full, I was offered the chance to stay in a brand-new building. It stands on Avenida Alvaro Lopez Nuñez, next to the Colegio de los Maristas and the Arco de la Carcel.
It's a new construction, and of the five apartments here, only two were furnished and ready for guests when I stayed. In fact, they had to bring me a couple of blankets and some blankets, and the heating had never benen turned on before! It really was fantastic: a bedroom with two beds pushed together and a spacious cupboard, a bathroom with bath, a spacious living room with a sofa and a huge flat-screen TV, and a dining table with four chairs. The living room has a door leading to a small fully equipped kitchen with fridge, washing machine and microwave with grill (since there is no oven). There are cutlery, pans, glasses, cups, sheets, towels, etc, but there aren't a lot of any of them.
There is central heating, radiators, and a thermostat to regulate the room temperature. The manager is a real star, and gave me a lot of help, as these apartments really are brand new. Payment is made in advance (in my case, 50 € + VAT each day, but there's enough space for 2 people), and a deposit of 200 €. The minimum stay is one week, and the apartment is cleaned twice a week (the sheets are changed once a week). Anyway, I liked it. Ideal for extended stays, a 10 minute walk from the city center (Plaza de Santo Domingo).
