Anthropology Museum Xalapa
When we went yesterday, we didn't know how many kilometers our hotel would be from the museum, but we coincided with the Independence Day and the guide did not know it was closed .. So the next day we returned early the Xalapa Museum of Anthropology only to find that it was Mexican Independence Day. The building itself is great, and the collection is split between various spacious rooms and outdoor patios, featuring welcoming sculptures and other pieces of pre-Columbian civilizations of the Gulf Coast found at various sites in the region. The first rooms are dedicated to the Olmec civilization, and they follow the Central and Totonac of Veracruz, killing Huastecas the stylized sculptures.
The pieces are set down in a succession of halls and courtyards connected by stairs and ramps for the disabled. From the main entrance the collection is sorted chronologically. The gardens contain plants from different parts of the state of Veracruz. In the photos, you will see that I wrote what the things are as well as which are the most important. It isn't an essential place to visit though like Tajin, reflecting everyday life and especially the religious, of utmost importance to these cultures.
