Annunziata Square

Benchè separata dal complesso della Reggia di Venaria, la circolare Piazza della SS. Annunziata rientra nello stesso progetto architettonico e risale, come tutto il borgo, alla seconda metà del Seicento. Concepita come uno spazio che interrompesse il rettilineo della via principale (Via Maestra, oggi Via Mensa), mostra da una parte la chiesa della Santa Maria e dall'altra lo storico ospedale di Venaria. La piazza è interamente porticata e dedicata all’Annunciazione di Maria, rappresentata dalle due statue poste sulle colonne erette al centro di ciascuno dei semicerchi. La sua forma vuole rappresentare il medaglione centrale del Collare dell’Annunziata, simbolo di uno dei più antichi e prestigiosi ordini cavallereschi sabaudi.

Though separated from the Reggia di Venaria, the circular Piazza della SS. Annunziata is in the same architectural design and dates, as the whole village, the second half of the seventeenth century. Conceived as a space that would break the back straight of the main street (Via Maestra, today Via Mensa) shows on the one hand the church of Santa Maria and on the other the historic hospital in Venaria. The arcaded square is entirely dedicated to the Annunciation, represented by the two statues on columns erected at the center of each of the semicircles. Its shape is meant to represent the central medallion of the Annunziata, a symbol of one of the oldest and most prestigious orders of chivalry Savoy.

Si scorge sul fondo la piazza della Repubblica dove c'è l'ingresso della Venaria Reale. Da un lato abbiamo la Parrocchia Natività' Di Maria Vergine e dall'altro il presidio ospedaliero della città di Venaria. Divisa in due dalla via Andrea Mensa e zona a traffico pedonale la si può vivere con tutta la calma necessaria e soffermarsi ad assaporare la vita quotidiana. Lascia spunto a molte iniziative fotografiche ( anche perché è molto bella e caratteristica ) ma sopra ogni cosa la sua peculiarità è la locazione. Molto pulita e curata merita una visita ed uno sguardo attento a chi sicuramente si reca a Venaria solo per visitare la Reggia Reale.

You can see at the bottom the Republic Square where c 'the entrance of Venaria Reale. On the one hand we have the Nativity Parish 'Di Maria Virgin and the other the hospital of the city of Venaria. Divided in two by the Via Andrea Mensa and pedestrian traffic zone you can live with all the necessary calm and stop to enjoy their daily lives. Leave inspiration to many photographic initiatives (also because it is very beautiful and picturesque) but above all its peculiarities renting. Very clean and taken care of is worth a visit and a careful look at those who definitely went to just to visit the Venaria Reale Royal Palace.
