Pays de la Loire
Lots of variety, excellent flavour
In the middle of the Loire, Anjou wines are produced in one of the region's largest vineyards. With a total production area of 20,000 hectares (along with those of Saumur), or 20 football fields, this land enjoys great diversity and concentrates more than 28 denominations of origin, some with exceptional products, like the Layon in the hills, the Savernnières on the banks of the Loire, the Anjou in the south, and the sparkling Saumur brut (dry). All make their way to the best tables. Anjou wines are noted for their flavor and variety: white, red, pink, soft, dry or semi-dry, sparkling. Choosing one depends on the food that it will accompany, though they all taste traditional.
