Ancora Valley

Vila Praia de Ancora is located next to both the sea and the river, 9 miles from Camiña and 13 km from Viana do Castelo, it is one of the most popular beaches north of Minoto that gives name to the village. Vila Praia de Ancora is a land full of religious monuments (churches, chapels) and the popular archaeological Barrosa Dolmen which is considered the largest megalithic Ancora Valley, and dates from the late third millennium BC. This spot, though, is also a fishing village as well as a place for people on holiday because it finds itself full of tourists during the summer months, due largely for its rich landscape, culture, and food.

Merce is worth visiting the "Strong d Lagarteira" and a visit to Mount Calvary with beautiful panoramic views of the village and the Atlantic Ocean. Even though there are various places to eat, we recommend the Portobello restaurant. I find it to be the best in the area and it is run by a Brazilian family.
