Ancient Estagira
The remains of the ancient city of Stagira, birthplace of Aristotle, can be found near the seaside village of Olympiada in the Halkidiki region. This archaeological site is situated on a promontory jutting into the Aegean Sea. The first thing to contemplate are the walls, which are fairly well preserved. Within these walls you can see the remains of the agora, a stoa and houses. At the foot of the ruins you will find small beautiful coves where you can swim in the clear waters of the Aegean.
