Yola
You can get lost
The ancient town of Siwa, is on top of a hill, as if it's watching the new town. Siwa oasis has the same name. There are palm, olive and fruit trees, constantly threatened by the sand and sea that surrounds it. It seems that the rain -scarce and torrential- in 1926, razed the fort built by mud made with various materials (salt, stones rock and sand), and the ethnic Berbers there had to rebuild their houses, with more resilient materials at the foot of the mound (the current Siwa). It is almost a ghost town now. You can get lost between mid construction and demolished mud in this small maze and let your imagination get carried away by this medieval Egyptian site.
