Commanderie Saint-Jean

1 review of Commanderie Saint-Jean

A discreet history

Excellent

At first, I didn't notice this stone wall and small entrance, but i'm sure it for our medieval friends. In fact, it is all that remains of the former Commander of Saint-Jean, that is, the religious building of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, built in the mid thirteenth century. In fact, they were kept in Colmar between 1191, and 1210. This entrance called "tympan gémine" welcomes students from a private school.
