Amantea

La bella cittadina calabra di Amantea si trova sulla costa tirrenica, in provincia di Cosenza ed è un luogo molto animato soprattutto in estate quando viene presa d'assalto dai tusriti per le sue attrattive, in particolar modo le sue belle spiagge. Amantea è abbastanza semplice da visitare: il paese nuovo si sviluppa in prossimità del mare mentre risalendo il colle lungo le strade centrali piene di negozi, si giunge alla parte più antica della città. Amantea è sormontata da un colle con sulla cima un vecchio castello, ormai in parte in rovina. Attraversando il centro antico della città e risalendo le erte viuzze si può raggiungere la fortezza in circa venti minuti. Dalla parte alta del paese si ha un bellissimo panorama su tutta Amantea ed il mare.

Il Municipio di Amantea, paese della provincia di Cosenza, si trova nel centro storico, situato sul promontorio roccioso sopra la parte nuova. Dalla villa comunale si può vedere quest’immensa parete rocciosa che si innalza verso il cielo, sopra di essa, il corso principale, dove si trova il Municipio, palazzi storici, e alla sommità il castello. Il palazzo del Municipio è un palazzo appena ristrutturato, spicca, perciò, dal resto del centro storico che conserva ancora le vecchie strutture, regalando al paese un’ atmosfera particolare. Sulle pareti due targhe per ricordare gli eroi di Amantea, alla sommità l’orologio che scandisce le ore e le giornate agli abitanti del centro storico.
