Alva Glen

En el extremo del pueblo de Alva, en la zona que pega con las impresionantes colinas de Ochil, se encuentra un paso natural que sigue un Glen o valle que sigue el río hasta la caverna del diablo y que nos lleva a una de las cimas de esta parte de las colinas. Catalogado de dificultad media, hay que advertit al visitante que hay que tener ciertos conocimientos de la zona y sobre todo tener en cuenta que la orografía tiende a canalizar las nubes (no niebla como muchos creen) y esto es peligroso si no se conoce el terreno o si no se tienen nociones de orientación. He subido viendo como el viento empujaba las nubes fuera y en cuestión de segundos pasó lo contrario. Mucho cuidado con esto. Una vez dicho esto, este paseo es una maravilla que pasa por dos cascadas de agua, un rio, la tumba de ladrón de ganado, cuevas, senderos estrechos que se retuercen como una serpiente y unas vistas impresionantes. Andaremos entre nubes y si lo hacemos en silencio podremos ver ciervos, aguilas y otras especies tan interesantes como poco peligrosas. Aproximadamente, estamos hablando de una ruta lineal de unos 5 Kilometros, ida y vuelta, llegando hasta la cueva (el itinerario recomendado) si lo hacemos hasta el final (cuando el camino desaparece) hablamos de unos 8 Kilómetros. Importante, digamos que tres cosas: llevar calzado/vestimenta adecuada, que nos guste la naturaleza salvaje y sobre todo la tranquilidad/soledad que podremos encontrar en parajes como este, en pleno corazón de Escocia.
