Exuberant decoration

The Pont Alexandre III is my favorite sight in all of Paris. Apart from its exuberant decoration of cherubs, nymphs, winged horses, and Art Nouveau lamps, it’s also located near the brilliant golden dome and offers exceptional views of the city.

As you cross the bridge, take a look over the edge and you’ll see crowds of waving tourists floating down the Seine aboard the Bateaux Mouche.If you raise your gaze, you’ll see Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower in the distance.

Once you cross the bridge, you’ll find yourself at the Grand Palais, the Science Museum, and the Petit Palais (which now holds the Museum of Fine Arts) with its gorgeous golden door and the Champs-Élysées in the background. As I said, some of the best views in Paris.

Longest bridge in Paris

Completed in 1900, the Pont Alexandre III is the longest and most monumental bridge in Paris. It connects the Les Invalides area with the Grand Palais des Beaux-Arts and the Petit Palais.

The bridge, which offers some truly fabulous views of the city, is flanked by four massive columns (17 meters high) that are decorated with bronze Pegasuses.

The decoration is grandiose: statues of lions, immense sculptures, gorgeous lamps, and thirty-two bronze candelabras are only some of what you’ll find.

The most beautiful bridge in Paris

This is the most beautiful bridge in Paris. Built between 1869 and 1900 in time for the world expo, it is art nouveau in design and has numerous lamps, cherubs, nymphs and winged horses. It's a great piece of engineering as it is a XIX century arc 6m over the Seine. It has a great panoramic view from Champs Elysées to the Invalides.

Situé dans le prolongement des Invalides et construit pour sceller l'amitier franco-russe ce pont fut inaugurer en 1900 juste avant l'exposition universelle. Reliant aujourd'hui les invalides aux petit et grand palais il se distingue des autres ponts grâce à ses quatre renommées placées en haut des colonnes ( art, sciences, commerce et industrie) encadrant le pont. Renommées, illustrées à travers les âges: Renaissance, Moyen-Age, Louis XV et époque moderne comme le montre le bas des piliers. Ce monument est donc chargé d'histoire transmise quasi-instantanément aux touristes; qu'ils marchent vers les Invalides ( où se trouve le musée d'histoire militaire et le tombeau de Napoléon) ou vers le Grand et le petit Palais (Lieux de toutes les expositions et dans un certain sens du génie français). Ce pont est pour toutes ces raisons l'un de mes préférés de Paris.

Located at the end of the Invalides and built to seal the Franco-Russian amitier this bridge was inaugurated in 1900 just before the Expo. Reliant now invalid for small and large palaces it apart from other bridges by four renowned placed on top of columns (art, science, trade and industry) flanking the bridge. Known, illustrated through the ages: Renaissance, Middle Ages, Louis XV and modern times as the base of the pillars shows. This monument is full of history transmitted almost instantaneously to tourists they walk to Invalides (where the military history and Napoleon's tomb museum) or to the Grand and Petit Palais (of all places exhibitions and a sense of French engineering). This bridge is for all these reasons one of my favorite Paris.

Le Pont Alexandre III, qui relie les invalides à la place Clemenceau, fut inauguré lors de l'Exposition universelle de Paris en 1900, sa particularité réside en le fait que sa première pierre fut posée par le tsar Nicolas II de Russie. Le pont était à l'origine un symbole de l'amitié franco-russe, résultat de l'alliance conclue entre le Tsar Alexandre III et le président de la république, Sadi Carnot. Vous y verrez de nombreuses sculpture remarquable, mais également le passage des bateaux péniches.

Pont Alexandre III, which connects invalid Place Clemenceau, was launched at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900, its uniqueness lies in the fact that the first stone was laid by Tsar Nicolas II of Russia. The bridge was originally a symbol of Franco-Russian friendship, the result of the alliance between Tsar Alexander III and the President of the Republic, Sadi Carnot. You will see many remarkable sculpture, but also the passage of barges boats.

Je trouve le pont Alexandre 3...

Je trouve le pont Alexandre 3 absolument magnifique,surtout la nuit avec ses lumières. Le pont se situe entre le 7ème et le 8ème arrondissement et ainsi permet de franchir la Seine,il a été construit en 1900 lors de l'exposition universelle avec le but de symboliser la bonne entente Franco-russe.Il doit en effet son nom au tsar Alexandre 3.Ce dernier fait environ 46 mètres de largeur,160 mètres de longueur et est orné de très belles statues et cadélabres.

I find Alexander 3 absolutely beautiful, especially at night with its lights bridge. The bridge is located between the 7th and the 8th district, allowing to cross the Seine, it was built in 1900 during the World Expo with the aim to symbolize harmony Franco-russe.Il is indeed its name Tsar Alexander last 3.This is about 46 meters wide, 160 meters long and is adorned with beautiful statues and cadélabres.

Famoso ponte sulla Senna in stile art nouveau, che riprende quello del Grand Palais, che si trova sulla riva destra. La cosa che salta subito all’occhio sono le quattro colonne ai due lati del ponte. Prende il nome dello zar Alexandre III, che pose la prima pietra nel 1896. Il ponte fu terminato nel 1900.

Famous bridge over the Seine in art nouveau style, which reflects that of the Grand Palais, which is located on the right bank. What catches the eye immediately are the four pillars on either side of the bridge. It is named after Tsar Alexander III, who laid the foundation stone in 1896. The bridge was completed in 1900.

El puente de Alexandre III destaca por ser el más largo de la ciudad y su grandeza, acompañado por bellas esculturas. El puente une la explanada de Les Invalides hasta el Grand y Petit Palais. Con ambas entradas "vigiladas" por dos grandes esculturas de bronce dorado sobre unas grandes columnas.

Not only the buildings of Paris are a must for cultural tourism, bridges are an important part of this rich architecture that the city has, since its first bridge, ironically named Pont Neuf (New Bridge) to more modern and spectacular, with iron structures as the Pont des Arts (Arts Bridge). Alexandre III Bridge stands out as the longest of the city and its greatness, accompanied by beautiful sculptures. The bridge links the Esplanade des Invalides to the Grand and Petit Palais. With both inputs "guarded" by two large bronze sculptures on a large gilded columns.

El puente de Alexander III, está considerado el puente más bonito de París. Su construcción, su hermoso arco con sus esculturas doradas y la colección de candelabros que lo adornan nacen de una curiosa historia. El puente Alejandro III une la gran explanada de Los Inválidos con el complejo monumental formado por el propio puente y el Grand y el Petit Palais. Con 110 metros es el puente más largo de la ciudad y con su construcción se sustituyó un antiguo puente colgante metálico. La primera piedra se puso como ocasión de alianza de Rusia y Francia en 1896!

The Alexander III bridge is considered the most beautiful bridge in Paris. Il faut y être pour ressentir cette sensation que l'on retrouve dans les grandes villes, de se balader entouré de voix inconnues, redécouvrant ses propres avenues. Le Pont Alexandre III, entre les Invalides et le Grand Palais, d'où l'on peut observer la tour Eiffel, les péniches parisiennes, ressentir la force architecturale de Paris.Les badaux semblent s'élever vers la tranquillité, profiter de ces richesses.

Franchissant majestueusement la Seine entre le septième et le huitième arrondissement parisien, reliant la très belle et vaste esplanade des Invalides au non moins remarquable Grand Palais et aux Champs Elysées, le Pont a été offert par le Tsar Alexandre III à la France pour célébrer la coopération franco-russe, et fut inauguré en 1900, année de l'exposition universelle à Paris. On aime beaucoup ses statues dorées imposantes et son architecture reconnaissable, qui ont permis au monument d'être classé monument historique en 1975.

En plus de tous les monuments parisiens, je dois admettre que j'aime également beaucoup les ponts de la ville. C'est vrai, ça aurait été trop facile que seuls quelques monuments dans Paris soient beaux, non non, tout est beau, même les ponts ! Et ils ont tous leur histoire ! J'aime vraiment beaucoup le charme de cette ville, ce n'est pas une surprise si elle est tant appréciée des gens, et ce partout dans le monde !

Souvent décrit comme le plus ornée de Paris, le plus extravagant le pont Alexandre III ne laisse personne indifférent. Inauguré à l'occasion de l'exposition universelle de 1900 et classé au monument historique il est véritablement imposant que ce soit dans ses mensurations ou dans sa décoration. Je suis pour ma part sensible à son style architectural Art Nouveau, à ses fameuses colonnes dorées représentant les quatre renommées et à se multiples travées.

Inaugurated on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition of 1900 and listed historical monument is truly impressive both in its measurements or decoration. Le pont Alexandre III est sans doute le pont le plus célèbre de Paris. En traversant ce pont, qui est aussi proche du Grand et du Petit Palais, pour aller aux Invalides quelqu'un peut voir les deux grandes statues de chaque côté. Cependant, vous allez regarder mieux les détails des parapets ornés en bronze en faisant une petite croisière avec un bateau-mouche. Pendant la journée ou la nuit ce pont est pour les habitants ou les visiteurs du centre parisien un ornement somptueux qui ne peut pas passer inaperçu!

Pont Alexandre III is the most famous bridge in Paris, no doubt. Crossing the bridge, which is also close to the Grand and Petit Palais, to go to the Invalides someone can see two large statues on each side. However, you'll look better details of bronze parapets decorated by a cruise with a boat. During the day or night this bridge is for residents or visitors to central Paris lavish ornament that can not go unnoticed!
