Enblem of the City
Set on a small hill, along with the cathedral, the emblem of the city of Meissen, which is the cradle of Saxony region. Built in the fifteenth century, it is the oldest example of a Renaissance residential castle in Germany, and was the first place for porcelain manufacturing in Europe. Inside, in addition to a large number of exhibits related to porcelain and to the history of the castle, it features a spiral staircase.
