A unique school
The Alaska Native Cultural School Charter is a place where the customs and cultures of indigenous groups in Alaska are preserved and passed on to new generations. Here children learn not only math and science, but also culturally important things. For example, they are taught to make typical Alaskan handicrafts, and they learn how to distinguish between different types of salmon. They are also taught the indigenous languages, which have been in danger of dying out. It is a unique school that strives to keep the customs and culture of Alaska alive.
