Airthrey Loch

Despite the possible surprise of some, Stirling does have its lake, Loch Airthrey, which is about 5 km in diameter and almost 40 meters at its deepest. This lake is what makes the University of Stirling the most picturesque and scenic every year. The university was built around the lake on the land donated by the castle. The truth is that this lake, which isn't the largest, is a visual spectacle, especially in winter and spring (see pictures), that attracts locals who use its surroundings as a recreation area, walking trails and other similar activities.
