The Medieval Town of Agrigento
Agrigento, like all the cities and towns I have visited in Sicily, is full of historic palaces and churches, narrow streets and steeped in history. Here Luigi Pirandello was born, the Nobel Prize for Literature winner in 1934. However, Agrigento I think is better known for its splendid Valley of the Temples and the ruins of the ancient Greek city of Akragas. However today I'm not going to talk about this part of Agrigento, but of another of its "towns", the "medieval", located in the highest part of the town. On this side is the city of postwar modern Agrigento full of concrete buildings and little else.
