The City of Agde
The city of Agde can be found just a few miles away from Cap d'Agde on the gorgeous Mediterranean coast. It is a place that's rich in culture and history. The city of Agde was founded by the Greeks 2600 years ago. Marco Polo gave it the nickname of "the Black Pearl". Thanks to maritime trade, the town experienced a rich splendor. It was the second oldest city in France, and if you ask the people can feel some magic in it ... As if centuries of history would have given a soul. The historic center of the city's many narrow streets. I love getting lost in them! The charm of the city is inevitably linked to the passage of the Canal du Midi and the river Hérault in the center, just before reaching the Mediterranean.
