Sleeping in an old military school
Those who feel attracted by it, to stay awake in a place with so much history, you will enjoy staying in this hotel. The Hotel Abbaye Ecole de Sorèze is in a former Benedictine abbey founded in the 8th century, converted into a school in the year 1682, and a century later, into a military academy, a role it kept until the year 1991. Today it belongs to the group "Les Hotels France Patrimonie" who managed the museum that have made those wings of the structure where former students lived and studied. Regarding the hotel, it is rated as a 2 and 3 * but I never would have thought that I had less than 3*.
It is true that the rooms are spare and there are no frills, but a good hotel that also has a small warm water indoor pool, and a really nice restaurant (from my point of view, the restaurant category exceeds the other hotel services together). In short, the Hotel Abbaye Ecole de Sorèze is a good place to start our journey through the Tarn, and even if not to stay in it, I recommend spending at least one afternoon on a visit to the museum. It is really interesting to explore the ancient study halls, students cells, and learn all the intricacies of this place that is not without its legends.
