When the bull territories of Zamora turn to Salamanca meadows and it seems that one can find nothing but pastures, you discover, on a battered track, the Castillo del Buen Amor (Good Love Castle)
This fifteenth century Gothic fortress, surrounded by empty fields with green patches of holm oaks is like a hallucination. It is impossible to escape the atmosphere it oozes. It feels as if you've stepped back in time and you find yourself in a hunting palace, where gentlemen and guests enjoy the good life.
Furnished with an exquisiteness and a refinement that it closer to a palace than a fortress, full of details, tapestries, oil paintings, suits of armour - worthy of a museum, the castle has six rooms that are interwoven through a labyrinth of vaults, corridors and stairways and overlook a great Renaissance courtyard. The charming bedrooms, mix contemporary touches with antique elements. The castle is surrounded by 116 acres dotted with copses of oaks and pines.
