Full-Day Salamanca & Ávila Tour from Madrid

At 7:45 in the morning, you’ll board a bus in downtown Madrid and set out to visit the World Heritage cities of Ávila and Salamanca.

After approximately two hours, you’ll reach Salamanca, jewel of the Spanish Renaissance. Upon arrival, you’ll begin a guided tour of the Old City to visit important sites like the Plaza Mayor, widely considered one of the most beautiful in Spain, and the Old and New Cathedrals with their beautiful contrast of architectural styles.

During the tour, you’ll also visit the University of Salamanca. This university was founded in the 12th century and is among the oldest universities in the world. During the visit, your guide will explain the history of the university and the interesting story behind the famous frog that adorns its walls.

After visiting Salamanca, you’ll board the bus to begin the journey to Ávila. This historic city is famous for its enchanting medieval architecture and its impeccably-preserved city walls.

During the guided tour of Ávila, you’ll walk along the walls to learn about the medieval history of the city and visit the most important attractions like the Ávila Cathedral and the Basilica of San Vicente, a masterpiece of Spanish Romanesque architecture.

After a full day exploring two of Spain’s most illustrious cities, you’ll begin the return journey to Madrid. At approximately 19:45, you’ll reach the center of Madrid and the tour will conclude.
